About this workshop

By the end of this 2-hour training, therapists will be able to conceptualize intergenerational trauma within Asian American family systems using a culturally responsive lens, identify common trauma patterns that present in clinical work, and apply trauma-informed interventions to support identity integration, nervous system regulation, and intergenerational healing.

More About Soo Jin Lee

Soo Jin Lee is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, executive director of Yellow Chair Collective, and co-founder of Entwine Community. Deeply influenced by her experiences as an Asian immigrant, she became a leading voice in mental health advocacy by centering culturally responsive care and community-driven support. Her work—exemplified by her co-authored book, Where I Belong: Healing Trauma and Embracing Asian American Identity—addresses the unique challenges faced by diverse communities. Soo Jin’s contributions have been featured on NPR, PBS, CBS, and at CUNY, reflecting her unwavering commitment to redefining mental health services and advancing community care.
